Investment in Technology

17th April 2015

As you may recall, in February we announced that as part of the school’s investment in technology and IT infrastructure we were adopting the implementation of Office 365. These developments have happened smoothly and ensure that pupils have access to the latest software and hardware in the school environment. We are now ready to move to the next stage.

Under the licence that Great Gaddesden School has with Microsoft the school is offering all our junior pupils (Years 3 - 6) licences for Microsoft Office 365. Each licence allows you to run Office on up to five machines. The Microsoft Licence is the Microsoft Office 365 Pro Plus version which for PC includes:

Word 2013, Excel 2013, PowerPoint 2013, OneNote 2013, Access 2013,

Publisher 2013, Outlook 2013, Lync 2013, InfoPath 2013

The great news is that the Microsoft Office 365 Licence is free while your child is educated at our school. (Terms of the Office 365 Licence state that it cannot be used to operate a personal business and may not be sold or otherwise reassigned).

As part of this process children in Years 3 and up will receive an email account which will be used for educational purposes.

We are excited about the opportunities that lay ahead with the use of the improved software available.
