Safety Workshop from Druglink

30th January 2013

Yesterday afternoon, as part of the Key Stage 2 PSHE curriculum, children in Years 4, 5 and 6 undertook a safety workshop with Bud Windeler from the charity 'Druglink'. Children were given opportunities to ask and answer questions about the impact of smoking, drinking and drugs. All pupils demonstrated an extremely mature attitude and we were complimented on the range of questions asked.

The outcomes of the session were as follows:

  • Increased awareness, understanding of drugs & alcohol and their impact. Helping young people develop skills and attitudes so that they can make informed choices.
  • Knowledge of where to access help and advice.
  • Build confidence to enable them to speak with an appropriate adult on any issues of concern.
