Outdoor Learning

17th May 2017

On Thursday 18th May, it is ‘Outdoor Classroom Day’. The purpose of this day is to celebrate and inspire outdoor learning and play. Outdoor learning improves children’s health, engages them with learning and leads to a greater connection with nature. Play not only teaches critical life skills such as resilience, teamwork and creativity, but is central to children’s enjoyment of childhood. To celebrate this initiative, children will have a number of opportunities to learn outside of the classroom from Wednesday – Friday of this week. This will continue to support the forest schools work we have begun this year, which is proving very popular!
