Promoting Good Behaviour

At Great Gaddesden we have a behaviour system which positively promotes good behaviour through incentives and rewards.

Each child has a name card which is placed at the ‘Blue Sky’ level on a Behaviour Ladder at the start of each day. To encourage positive behaviour, adults may move children up the Behaviour Ladder for exceptional effort in their behaviour or in their approach to their learning.

We hold "Blue Sky Play" each Friday afternoon which is a special play time with structured fun activities to reward those who have stayed on or above ‘Blue Sky’ Level during the week. Children below "Blue Sky" may find themselves missing increments of "Blue Sky Play".

Pupils also have the opportunity to strive to reach "Pot of Gold" by displaying behaviour which goes above and beyond. This accolade is shared with the school community and with a card home to parents/carers also.
