We are incredibly proud of how well the children in Early Years are settling into school life. They have been learning the new routines and exploring the classroom and outdoor areas, as well as starting to form new friendships. This has been wonderful to see! We have been enjoying the beautiful weather and enjoyed a walk to the church. The children spent some time in the church, talking about things we could see and hear. We listened for the church bells and said a prayer together. They have also enjoyed exploring in the churchyard.
We have been talking to the children about how our school's Mission Statement and the 3 school rules help us. The children have been using these to guide them and this has included inviting new friends to join in with their games, looking after our classroom, keeping themselves safe by listening and following instructions.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be basing our learning on 'All about me'. We will continue to get to know the children and find out their interests before deciding on our topics for the term. Later this term, we will be learning about Harvest and exploring the changes and colours in Autumn. Next week, we will start using our school library. Please ensure that all children have a book bag as they will be bringing a library book home.
