Each term, we have a 'Wow Forest School' day, led by a highly qualified, visiting Forest School specialist teacher. All children are introduced to new skills e.g. whittling, Hapa Zome.
Each class has the opportunity to explore the local area for outdoor learning regularly, supporting the children's wellbeing. This has been particularly important since returning to school post lockdown.
Children have their Outdoor Learning sessions and Forest Schools sessions regardless of the weather ! The school provide waterproof dungarees for all children. They are requested to bring waterproof coats and wellies.
Popular sessions have included den building, whittling gnomes out of sticks and celebrating Religious Art within our environment.
Forest Schools is a valuable part of our curriculum and encourages the children to make links with their learning and development of skills across the curriculum.
