Early Years

Welcome to the Early Years at Great Gaddesden.
Please take the time to read our Sept 2017 Welcome Letter below which gives reminders and information for current Early Years parents/carers
Our class teacher is Miss Ayres. Mrs Batson is our Nursery Nurse and Mrs Waites supports our learning in Early Years too.
Our Reception class runs from 8:50am - 3:15pm.
In addition, we also have a Nursery every day from 8:50am - 12:00pm for children as young as 3 years old.  We now also offer a lunch-time club from 12:00pm - 1:15pm which is charged at £3.50 per day.
Please contact the school office for more information. We would love to share our learning with you.
We are writing a blog. Visit our Nursery and Reception Blog. (Note that you will leave our website and go to blogspot.co.uk.)

In our Early Years class, we use 'Jolly Phonics' to teach phonics and we follow the 'Letters and Sounds' programme.  Children are given sound and word cards to practice at home when they are ready and a reading book when they are able to blend sounds to read words.
A letter which outlines the curriculum for Nursery and Reception for the Autumn Term can be found below.
