British Values

Promoting British Values

The DfE expects all schools to reinforced the need to 'create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.'

This is reflected in the school mission statement:

'Treat others exactly as you would like them to treat you' , (Luke 6:31)

These are values that have a central place in our school and is reflected in our curriculum. Our PSHE curriculum covers topics such as 'Confidence and Responsibility' and 'Citizenship'.

Through our school values, we provide a foundation to the way in which we behave to each other.

Every week, the children nominate one of their peers for modelling our school values, in all aspects of school life. These nominations are currently recognised as part of the display on the area of focus in each class room.

However, this is only a small part of what happens at our school.
